Start your career with Wyoming Medical Center. We offer comprehensive orientation for new graduates to ensure they fit well and function effectively as part of our team. The year-long Graduate-Nurse Residency builds upon your college education with activities that help you prepare for practice on your hired unit and shift.

The summer 2016 graduate nurse class.

The year-long residency includes:

  • One week of hospital orientation, beginning in June
  • Three weeks of boot camp including 24 hours per week on home unit
  • Individualized preceptorship program which includes a primary mentor
  • Seven weeks of Essentials of Critical Care Orientation course including hands-on simulations and lectures
  • Rotations through other disciplines to learn how the hospital works
  • Paid education for required certifications

Continuing education includes:

  • Essentials of Critical Care Orientation modules
  • EKG interpretation course
  • Advanced Critical Care Class is required for specific departments
  • Monthly education to transition from graduate nurse to professional nurse
