Dr. Bowkley is the only neurointerventional radiologist in Wyoming. He is board certified in Diagnostic and Vascular / Interventional Radiology. He is a member of Wyoming Medical Center’s Primary Stroke team.

Dr. Bowkley grew up in New Jersey. His interest in medicine originally grew out of his relationship with his pediatrician, but he developed a passion for interventional radiology after watching a placement of an inferior vena cave filter in medical school.

“Interventional radiology combined my knowledge of anatomy and vascular structures in making diagnoses with the ability to treat the problems and care for patients at the bedside,” he said. “It is really the best of both worlds.”

Dr. Bowkley completed a fellowship in Vascular/Interventional Radiology  at Brown University School of Medicine and another in Neurointerventional Radiology at The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. He is a member of the American College of Radiologists.

He moved to Casper in 2010 and joined the staff of Casper Medical Imaging and Outpatient Radiology. He chose Casper because of its proximity to outdoor recreation as well as its impressive number of medical specialists.

“There is no other network of specialists that goes as deep in all of Wyoming. If you are going to practice this level of medicine, Wyoming Medical Center is the only place you can practice it. We see all of the complex cases that would otherwise get shipped out to a tertiary academic center,” he said. “Some of the cases that I performed here in Wyoming had only been in case reports in the literature elsewhere.”

Dr. Bowkley is married with three children.
