Dr. Melissa Knudson-Johnson is an internal medicine and pediatrics doctor which is called med-peds, a type of medical specialty which trains physicians to be board eligible in both pediatrics and internal medicine. She sees patients of all ages at Mesa Primary Care.
Dr. Knudson grew up in North Dakota and always knew she wanted to be a doctor. She has a special passion for working with both younger and older patients, which is one reason she decided to specialize in internal medicine and pediatrics.
“I always wanted to be a pediatrician, but I also love working with the geriatric population because they really take an interest in their health care,” she said.
She is married and has two children. She is excited to be back in the West and looks forward to providing both internal medicine and pediatric care that is backed by the wide network of Wyoming Medical Center specialists.
“I think there is a shift in hospitals across the United States in that we want to keep people out of the hospital if we can. We want to keep them healthy,” she said. “The best way to do that is to have good primary care so people see their provider on a regular basis.”
She is board certified in pediatrics and is board eligible in internal medicine.
