Dr. Michael Miller, a family medicine physician, practices at the UW Family Practice Residency Clinic.

Miller grew up in Denver and became interested in medicine as a teenager.

“My dad is a family doctor, so I grew up around that. My mom was a nurse. We’d have conversations around the dinner table that would probably gross people out,” he said.

He completed his UW Family Medicine Residency in Casper from 2000 to 2003. He practiced medicine in Rwanda, East Africa, for four years beginning in 2009.

“I learned a lot about health systems and the importance of primary care and the impact that access to care can have on someone. Over there, you can make a huge impact on someone’s life,” he said.

Miller is married with three sons. He enjoys fly fishing, canoeing and other outdoor activities.
