And the final numbers for the July baby boom are in: The Birth Place delivered 123 babies, the most in a single month since March 1986 when it delivered 125.

The Birth Place typically delivers between 85 and 90 babies a month, nurse Suzi Bower told the Casper Star-Tribune in the article  “Baby boom hits Casper.” (It’s worth a read to see how nurses have responded to the busiest baby month in 27 years.)

According to pre-registrations and what doctors tell nurses, August could be nearly as busy. If you run into a nurse from The Birth Place, stop to give them a high five, a hug or maybe a cup of coffee. They’ve still got a long summer ahead!
