Light your Christmas season at Holiday Square on Nov. 19
By Kristy Bleizeffer Nov 13, 2017
It’s not Christmastime in Casper until Conwell Park glimmers with the light of 73,000 bulbs, illuminating nearly every tree.
This year, the season starts Nov. 19 with the 2017 Holiday Square Celebration. Here’s what you need to know.
The City of Casper’s Public Services Department has been hanging the park's lights all month long. The Wyoming Medical Center Foundation is again partnering with Keep Casper Beautiful to host the lighting ceremony on Nov. 19.
Wyoming Medical Center volunteers will distribute free hot cocoa and cookies this year, sponsored by the Ramkota Hotel. There is also a new sound system and countdown display sponsored by Automation Electronics and Enbridge Express Platte Pipeline.
As always, Bob Price will be the emcee, while our new CEO, Michele Chulick, will welcome the crowd.
Of course, Santa and Mrs. Claus drop in to visit with your children and find out what they would like for Christmas. Santa will have special helpers this year: Miss Wyoming Teen USA, Mackenzie Kern, and Miss Wyoming USA, Callie Bishop. To ensure that Santa gets back to the North Pole in time to get ready for Christmas, the line to see Santa will close at 8 p.m. but all children already in line will be able to see him.
Food vendors – including C85, Smoked N Tender, and Rockin Burgers and Dogs – will be on Conwell Street.
Please note that Conwell and First streets by the park will be closed for the event. It is recommended that you park by Wyoming Medical Center and walk over.
