Photo gallery: Look who showed up (in their ugly sweaters) for the Reindeer Relay
Even kids got in on the fun. Mayah Jacques, Evan Renner and Charlie McGinley relayed for the 'Prancers PV Racing Kinders." Have you ever seen someone so happy to go running?
Nothing rings in the holidays like bearded men in festive tights. Ugly Christmas sweaters stole the show at the Wyoming Medical Center Foundation Reindeer Relay and Holiday Square celebration Sunday at Conwell Park, and we have the photos to prove it.
Some 275 ran the relay raising $3,000 for the Wyoming Medical Center Foundation and hospital patients. The foundation will donate some of the proceeds to the Kelly Walsh Student Council and the Salvation Army for their help throughout the event.
A team from the Wyoming Medical Center operating room won the relay with possibly the best team name in the history of Reindeer Relays: "99 Problems but a Stitch Ain't One." Best costume honors went to "Elvis & the Rockin' Reindeer" with an Elvis you have to see to believe. Scroll through the photos to find pictures and team members of each of winning teams.
From all of us at Wyoming Medical Center, happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas!
The Jingle Bell Babes traded in their hospital scrubs for busy leggings and loud Christmas sweaters. Looking good, ladies! They are (in no particular order) Alaina Wilson, Jessica Peterson, Casey Robberson, Sarah Siems and Michelle Steinert.
Relayers show off their Christmas spirit in wrapped boxes, Santa coats and other uncomfortable workout gear.
A team from the Wyoming Medical Center operating room, '99 Problems but a Stitch A'int One,' finished the relay first. Members are Austin Hecker, Idalia Hecker, Danna Miller, Damon Green, Alvin Alag, Pam Ramsey, Shandin Kilgore and Jackson Craig.
See why 'Elvis & the Rockin' Reindeer' took home our prize for best team costume? This team, with a large showing from our Radiology Department, includes members Brynn Meyer, Erin Davis, Echo Smith, Janet Thomas, Jen Pruitt, Star Baures, Brandon Tolley and Bree Dirks.
We're not sure who this Santa, Mrs. Claus or jolly elves are, but we thought their outfits were on point. If you know them, help us identify them by tagging them on our Facebook post.
This team called themselves 'Awesome,' and we do have to give them props for the man tights. They are Regan Diller, Reed Rudkin, Tyson Misak and Dan Vresk. No word on the dog's name, though. Anybody?
Our Holiday Square celebration followed the relay Sunday evening. After a short countdown, Mr. and Mrs. Claus flipped the switch. The park, and the Christmas season, flickered on with more than 73,000 light bulbs.
Several hundred people gathered in Conwell Park after the relay for our Holiday Square celebration.
Every holiday celebration needs a snowman. Thank you, kids, for making one for Conwell Park!
