If you have prediabetes, making modest lifestyle changes now — like eating healthier, being more physically active, and reducing stress — can help you avoid the bigger changes that come with managing type 2 diabetes. Enroll in PreventT2, a proven 12-month program to prevent or delay type 2 diabetes.
The NERD Health and Wellness Program is hosting a free informational meeting to answer your questions and sign up participants.
This is a national, evidence-based diabetes prevention program developed by the Center for Disease Control. It uses a lifestyle-based curriculum aimed at reversing the start of the diease by empowering patients with prediabetes to take charge of their health and well-being. In the program, clients meet with a certified health coach in a group setting according to the following schedule:
- Weekly for four months
- Every other week for two months
- Monthly for six months
At the group sessions, clients will learn to incorporate healthy eating, physical activity, problem solving, stress-reduction and coping skills into their daily lives. Please contact the NERD Health & Wellness Center for more information, 577-2929, or attend the informational meeting.
Introductory price is $75 for the 12-month program. The full program begins Feb. 11.
