Megan Makelky is a certified family nurse practicioner at Sage Primary Care.
She grew up in a small town on the Montana Hi-Line, an area named for the main line of the BNSF Railway in Northern Montana.
Megan first became interested in medicine while volunteering at a local nursing home as a young girl. She started her career as a certified nursing assistant (CNA) and went on to earn her bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN). She worked as a registered nurse for 9 years in a variety of settings, from inpatient to an outpatient clinic at a small, isolated community healthcare facility in Wyoming.
"I love that I have the opportunity to help people with their acute care needs while staying in contact or connecting them to a primary care provider," Megan said of her position at Sage Primary Care. "It's a great opportunity for new and returning patients to come for their acute care needs knowing their primary care doctor will stay up-to-date with their recent illness. I appreciate the vast specialties Wyoming Medical Center has to offer, giving patients the opportunity to have vital healthcare services close to home."
Megan is married and has two sons.
"We are an active family that enjoys the outdoors, road trips, local sports and community events, and standing on the football sideline cheering on the team," she said.
