Venese Graunke is a certifed family nurse practictioner at Urgent Care East. She grew up in southern California and, when she was 10 years old, saw an open heart surgery on television. She knew then that she would have a career in medicine.
At 18, she started working in the hospital as a unit clerk, working her way up to a certified nursing assistant, ER technician, licensed vocation nurse, registered nurse and nurse manager.
"All of these positions offered perspective of the different positions, helped me create strong bonds with my coworkers and helped me become a stronger medical provider," she said. "I love working in urgent care; the thought that anything can come walking through the doors is very exciting to me. To be able to help someone in an urgent situation is very fulfilling for me."
Venese is married and has two grown children and five grandchildren.
