Throwback Thursday: Baby New Year, Jan. 1, 1960
By Kristy Bleizeffer one week ago
Who was the first baby born at Natrona County Memorial Hospital 60 years ago?
According to the Casper Star, it was Mary Lynn Sullivan who was born at 12:40 a.m. Jan. 1, 1960.
The cutline of this newspaper photo, found in the WMC scrapbook at the Casper College Western History Center, suggests that Sullivan would have been given "a host of gifts from local merchants."
We'd love to know what those gifts were, and where Mary Lynn might be today.
On behalf of everyone at Wyoming Medical Center, and from all our New Year's baby's past and future, have a happy and healthy 2020!
Throwback Thursday is a series celebrating Wyoming Medical Center’s long and rich history in Natrona County. Special thanks to the Casper College Western History Center which archives the vast Wyoming Medical Center collection of newspaper articles, photographs and other memorabilia.
