Throwback Thursday: 'Business as usual,' Thanksgiving Day, 1977

By Kristy Bleizeffer Nov 27, 2014

The flu doesn't care if it's Thanksgiving, and accidents can happen any day of the year. Because babies come whenever they are ready and because catastrophe strikes when you least expect it, Thanksgiving is just another day at the office for many of us at Wyoming Medical Center.

In this Casper Star-Tribune photo from Thanksgiving Day,1977, admitting clerks Mary Crouch, Florence Powers and Helen Vauquet work to release patients in time to enjoy the holiday with their families. Today, we give thanks for all of our dedicated workers, past and present, who sacrifice holidays with their families in order to care for this community. And we wish all you who will spend today with family and friends a healthy and happy Thanksgiving.

#ThrowbackThursday is a series celebrating Wyoming Medical Center’s long and rich history in Natrona County.  Special thanks to the Casper College Western History Center which archives the vast Wyoming Medical Center collection of newspaper articles, photographs and other memorabilia.
