Throwback Thursday: Darth Vader takes break from dark side duties to visit hospital children's ward, Oct. 1, 1982

Harnessing the dark side of the force to squash the Jedi rebellion is taxing work. Just ask Lord Vader. Maybe it's why he took a break from enforcing the Galactic Empire's evil plans on Oct. 1, 1982, and came to Memorial Hospital's children's ward to pat the heads of young tow-headed patients. "There there, Master Lovelace. There there."
Or, at least that's how we imagined it.
#ThrowbackThursday is a series celebrating Wyoming Medical Center’s long and rich history in Natrona County. Special thanks to the Casper College Western History Center which archives the vast Wyoming Medical Center collection of newspaper articles, photographs and other memorabilia.
