In 1980, oil wasn't the only thing booming in Natrona County. Memorial hospital delivered a record-breaking 154 babies in June and reportedly broke that record in September, according to reports in the Casper Journal and the Casper Star-Tribune.

The boom didn't end in 1980, though. From Jan. 11 through Feb. 21, 1981, we delivered six sets of twins in six weeks. According to reporter Ron Franscell - then a staffer at the Star-Tribune, now a successful true-crime author - a seventh set of twins was expected the next week.
