Throwback Thursday: TV and an early Christmas arrive at the children's ward, 1954

By Kristy Bleizeffer Dec 10, 2020

Christmas came early to Memorial Hospital's children's ward on May 20, 1954.

The Casper Junior Chamber of Commerce donated the ward's first television set while Community Television and Bowen Hardware donated installation and services. Youngsters Jimmy Barham of Ten Sleep, Sharron Napper of Casper and Kathy Erickson of Casper got to watch the first TV show, though this Casper Star cutline doesn't say what it was.

These days, pediatric patients have access to their own TV and can even play video games if they feel up to it. (However, that is usually up to Mom and Dad.)

Throwback Thursday

Throwback Thursday looks back on Wyoming Medical Center’s long, rich history in Natrona County.
