Wyoming Medical Center welcomes pediatrician and neonatologist Shelley C. Springer, M.D., to Casper. Dr. Springer will take over the pediatric patients of Dr. Michael Granum, who is retiring, in her new clinic, Casper Children’s Center. She is also accepting new patients.
She is the first neonatologist in Wyoming. “My husband and I are coming to Casper to bring compassionate, contemporary, accessible pediatric care to the region’s newborns and children,” she said. “As the state’s first neonatologist, I can improve access and level of care for mothers with high-risk pregnancies, keeping that care local. We will broaden the scope of care not only for newborns, but for children of all ages.”
Dr. Springer is board certified in pediatrics and neonatal-perinatal medicine. She holds medical licenses in 24 states and has worked in every hospital setting – from solo-practice country hospitals to major Level IV NICUs at cutting-edge academic institutions. She completed her law degree from Newport University in 2012 and is now enrolled in a Doctor of Naturopathy degree program.
Dr. Springer is a consulting epidemiologist for the American Academy of Pediatrics and founder of It’s For the Children Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to supporting St. Christopher’s Home for Neglected and Abused Children in St. Kitts, West Indies.
