Kellie and Brad DeLano met 19 years ago at Oak Express in Casper. Brad sold Kellie a bedroom group, and slyly passed along his phone number. They were married two years later.
Yesterday, on New Year’s Day, they welcomed their third child together, a boy. Casen Elijah was born at 1:10 p.m. He weighed in at 7 pounds, 15.6 ounces. Their former youngest child, Elizabeth, is 14.
“He’s our bonus baby,” said Brad, who is the business manager at Sonny’s RV in Casper.
Kellie, who turned 41 on New Year’s Eve, is the assistant manager at Tractor Supply. She described this pregnancy as the easiest of her three pregnancies, despite being of “advanced maternal age,” she said with a laugh.
Brad has two children from a previous relationship, Jordan, 22, and Hunter, 20. Kellie and Brad have Aspen, 16, and Elizabeth, 14. Brad describes Jordan, Aspen and Elizabeth as Casen’s other mothers. They even took infant CPR classes to help care for their baby brother. All three said they were really excited for the birth. “Christmas was kind of a letdown,” said Jordan. They were hoping he’d be born by then.
The family has a small hobby ranch outside of Casper with horses and goats, among many other animals. “He already has a pony,” said Elizabeth, who’s been training the pony in anticipation of Casen’s arrival.
When asked if they were having any more children, Brad quickly replied, “No. Maybe a dog.”
