Designate a sober driver this Fourth of July: Local police will increase patrols this weekend
In all 50 states and the District of Columbia, it’s illegal to drive with a blood alcohol concentration of .08 grams per deciliter or higher. Yet over the Fourth of July period in 2014 (July 3-7), 164 people were killed in crashes involving at least one driver or motorcycle operator with a BAC of .08 or higher.
